Jessica Baran
(LCPC)
Jessica graduated from Bradley University with her Bachelor of Arts degree prior to earning her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from DePaul University. She furthered her clinical skills and experience through achieving her independent practicing license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Throughout her education and training, Jessica has approached therapy by first building trust with clients through affirming their experiences and meeting them with empathy and a client-centered focus. A vital component of this has been prioritizing cultural humility and responsiveness as those connections are built. In discussing a client’s intentions for therapy, Jessica will work with you to tailor the format to you as an individual and adjust as you grow. Her objective is to do this process alongside you without judgment, at times with a direct style, and appropriately with humor.
Jessica has worked with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings and levels of care addressing concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, work and school-related stress, relationship issues, and navigating life transitions. Her specialized training and experience also encompasses working with clients struggling with disordered eating, body image issues, and their self-worth. Also a group fitness instructor, Jessica has worked with clients to better understand their mind-body connection with a sensitive approach and awareness of the client as a whole person. Jessica believes it is a privilege to see individuals and families grow to understand themselves and each other better and looks forward to supporting clients in that process.
